This track was a lot of fun. My brother stumbled into the Edwyn Collins song on a movie soundtrack or something, and he suggested I put a little something down on it. I worked it into a pretty slick beat and decided to put together a spontaneous video to go with it. Hope you enjoy this.

Edwyn Collins – A Girl Like You (Big Hush Remix)
As you may or may not know, I’ve been a fan of Classic Rock and Oldies for much longer than I’ve been a fan of Rap. That should explain why you’ve heard me do so many songs with Classic Rock samples or references to them in the lyrics. Recently I was playing around with the idea of sampling The Rolling Stones – Gimme Shelter and the beat came together much easier than I expected. I was excited to put lyrics on this and I love the final product. See what you think about it!

Now this was a really cool project. I was emailed about an instrumental collaboration that had been done on YouTube by JFlo and David Wong. In the email I was told that my voice might be a good fit for this beat so of course I took the challenge to see if that was correct. I love the challenge of rapping to anything even slightly unconventional. This was a rap beat so it wasn’t as far off the beaten path as some of my past experiments, but the violin certainly set this apart. Anyway, I think in the end it turned out pretty solid. But you be the judge.
